North Bend, WA to Twin Falls, ID

Ready for a night's sleep after a long drive.
Hooked up the truck to the trailer the night before and Peggy gave us a ride over before heading off to work. 0730 getting underway with the pup. Cold in North Bend. 37 degrees and light rain. Moved on up the road and onto I-90. It would be an untruth to say I had no worries about going over the Pass with the trailer. About 0800 on Snoqualmie Pass. Snowing pretty good and the speed limit had been reduced to 45 mph. That was just fine with me as the rig doesn't like going much faster than that on such an incline. Up ahead I could see a lot of flashing yellow lights so I'm sure my anxiety level had bumped up another notch. Ahhh, relax. A row of six snow plows moving along in all three lanes. No one else was going to be going much faster either.
It's been a long time since I've posted anything. Several friends have asked me from time to time when I was going to publish a chronicle of the entries from the PCT. I don't have an answer. But this may be a start. Sandi asked that I post my adventures with Beau on this trip. I hadn't really thought about it but maybe we'll see how it goes. I'm sure it won't be anywhere near as exciting as Runningbird's adventures but I'll just start with Day 1 and see how it goes.
We motored along at a moderate pace and made the periodic stops for Beau to stretch his legs and for both of us (mostly me) to pump out the bilges and have a second coffee. Actually I thing most of the stops were to refuel. We headed south on I-82 with the occasional sprinkle or flurry and mild traffic. In Oregon we merged onto I-84 and continued on the desolate drive into Idaho, did the slow pass through the Boise area and on to my planned destination of a county park near Twin Falls. I was really starting to fade, had eaten little, and we were now an hour later. I let Google guide me into the town of Filer and made the turn into the road leading to the park. It didn't look like much and it wasn't. It was closed - opened April thru October. Well dang! Obviously didn't do enough homework.
I opened my Campendium app (I love Campendium) and found the next closest spot - the County Fairgrounds. It didn't look like much either but it was opened. It was pretty much deserted with only two other rigs - horse trailer-toy hauler type trailers. Would they appropriately be called horse haulers? Anyway, I settled in, we had a light dinner and had our evening walk. It was cold there with a stiff wind blowing. There were no hookups and the furnace was kicking on all night. We both had a quiet hard sleep.
