Definately country life

Grain field across the street from the Country Store
Today is a Zero Day in Canyon Creek. Last night we had a great pasta dinner and salad with romaine grown by the store owner's wife and she threw in some grated Parmesan. We slept well and after coffee and breakfast we hung out at the store for a while with the dogs enjoying some quiet play about the store. Beau's play mate was a small, black, kinda cute puppy. She was about the same age as Beau but half his size. Her name was Felony. A good name for a future dog for my brother.

Beau getting a bit of mommy time while he can.
Runningbird really wanted to make some phone calls but there are zero cell phone bars here. The shop owner was talking to us about visiting a small town just down the highway (Marysville) and Peggy wondered aloud how many bars there were in Marysville. The proprietor mentioned it was really a small town so there was no need for anymore than one. Peggy commented that three would be nice. It took a bit for each to realize one was talking about cell phones and the other about pubs. Ahhh, country life.
When we were driving here we noticed that Montanans really lose a lot of things. They have Lost Rivers, Lost Trails, Lost Lakes, Lost Horses, etc. Kinda interesting because back on the PCT near Castle Crags they had "Dissappearing Creeks and Campgrounds". Also here in Montana they mark road deaths with small white crosses along the road and highway signs that tell you that's what the crosses signify. No helmet laws here.
