The days, weeks, months prior to venturing off on to the CDT for this year were absolutely jam packed. Peggy started the year off like she has with every other year; by celebrating another birthday in early January. In February I took off on my second annual trip to the Caribbean with my grade school buddies and my brother Peter. This year we went further down to the Windward Islands of St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines. Now we all know very well why they call them the Windwards. In early March Peggy and I went on a very successful and rewarding second mission trip to Belize and Placentia with our church group. Shortly after returning Peggy’s mom passed away and the days and weeks following were filled with the storm and all the dark clouds that such an event brings.

Leaping ahead to mid-May I ventured off on a busy 4-week adventure driving through Croatia, sailing from the island of Corfu in the Ionian Sea about the islands and west coastline of Greece and finished off with four days touring Athens and the island of Hydra. Meanwhile, Peggy the Running Bird took off late in May for another (again, very successful and rewarding) mission trip in Rawanda with “Love with Actions”. From there she flew to Tanzania and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro! We arrived home within a few days of each other and, after a few days of dealing with jet lag, started getting things together for the CDT.

In the few days prior to heading out we were able to spend time with kids, grandkids, friends, and brief visits with PCT friends.

Onward -
