Can't make something out of nothing.
So I won't try. It was a pretty slow day for me, which was good. I wan't feeling so great probably still trying to catch up after those three 4:45 wake ups. Beau and I went on several long walks around the fields of the RV Park, I did some research on options for what route to take going home, and I did a lot of reading. It was definately a "blah" kind of day.

Just outside the town of East Glacier.
I must admit, I did do a lot of tracking on Runningbird. For her to meet the requirements of her backcountry permit she would have to have a 28-mile day. To me that meant hiking into the evening. Fortunately the days are still fairly long. After dinner and another walk I started to get things ready for moving tomorrow. Runningbird's last track was posted at about 2030 (8:30 PM) and she was still a few miles short of the next closest campground - Many Glacier Campground. At about 10 PM she called me but it was hard to understand her. She sounded more like R2D2 than anything else. After some time I translated things into - she was at the Many Glacier Lodge/Hotel, just short of the campground, which would have taken her on a different trail that was out of her way for the next morning so she was going to have to double back anyway. The Lodge had a room so she checked in. Good for her! She was getting a shower and washing her clothes in the sink. It was a good move on her part and she ended the day with 27.6 miles under her pack. Get it? Under her pack, not her belt? Ha! At least I can still crack myself up at times.I think I need to get back to civilization and maybe some different meds. Anyway, I can sleep well now knowing she is safe.

Glacier Meadows RV Campground. I had a spot behind these guys in the woods.
It was a nice place with clean bathrooms, hot showers, and lots of room for Beau to run and chase ground squirrels.
